The project concerns the expansion and functional upgrading of the Emergency Department (E.D.) of the University General Hospital of Ioannina, through the construction of new areas extending the ground floor and the creation of a modern Resuscitation Room. The intervention is deemed necessary due to the existing lack of adequate space for examinations, short-term hospitalization, patient and staff circulation, as well as patient stay and waiting areas. In addition, the Emergency Department does not currently have a sufficient and properly equipped Resuscitation Room suitable for the hospital’s level.
